Nathaniel M. Schuster, MD is a Pain and Headache Neurologist and Associate Professor at the UC San Diego Center for Pain Medicine in La Jolla, CA, where he serves as Associate Clinic Director. He was recipient of the Migraine Research Foundation’s 2018 Impact Award research grant to perform the first placebo-controlled study of vaporized cannabinoids for acute migraine. He serves on the board of directors of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and as the Vice Chair of the Guidelines Committee for the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society. He guest edited the October 2024 Pain issue of Continuum for the American Academy of Neurology. He graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed neurology residency at Ronald Reagan-UCLA Medical Center, headache fellowship at Montefiore Headache Center, and pain fellowship at Massachussetts General Hospital.
