Teshamae Monteith, MD, FAHS is a Professor of Clinical Neurology and Chief of the Headache Division in the Department of Neurology, at the University of Miami Health System. She graduated from medical school at the University of Miami and completed neurology residency at the New York University. She completed a headache fellowship at the Thomas Jefferson University followed by a second fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Monteith is the founding chair of the New Investigator and Trainee Section of the American Headache Society (AHS) and is currently co-chair of the AHS Leadership Developiment Committee. Dr. Monteith is on the Board of Directors for the American Migraine Foundation and is co-chair of the International Headache Society’s (IHS) Membership Committee. She was a former member of the IHS Board of Trustees. Dr. Monteith is the recipent of the 2024 AHS Women's Health Science Award.
