In this session we will briefly review preclinical research findings into the potential therapeutic benefit of targeting orexin and GLP-1, two opposing peptides regulating appetite in migraine. GLP-1 acts as a potent satiety agent, while orexin (specifically orexin-A) is an appetite-stimulating peptide, yet both are proposed as novel treatments for migraine.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the therapeutic potential of orexin in migraine.
Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the therapeutic potential of GLP1 in migraine.
Upon completion, participant will be able to demonstrate how appetite regulating peptides impact migraine biology.
