Dr Simms is a board-certified neurologist and board certifies in headache medicine. She is the Medical Director of the Headache Center at the DHR Health Neurology Institute in McAllen, Texas
Dr Simms gained her medical degree from the Universidad del Valle, Cali, Colombia. She completed her neurology residency at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, before relocating to Alabama, USA. She attended the University of Alabama, Alabama Neurological Institute and University of South Alabama as an intern, neurology reaident, fellow observer in Vascular and Critical Care Neurology, fellowship in Neuroimaging and additional training in Headache Medicine.
Dr Simms focuses on underserved populations services and has an interest in physician leadership and clincal research with formal training at the Physician Leadership Institute in association with Harvard Business School and Principal Investigator certification. as part of her goal to contribute to closing the gap in diversity and inclusion in clinical research.
