Dr. Yu-Qing Cao is an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Center in Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Her lab studies how migraine-associated ion channel mutations increase neuronal excitability and the susceptibility to migraine. Cao lab is also investigating how neuro-immune interactions contribute to the pathophysiology of chronic migraine and post-traumatic headache, and exploring novel strategies to reverse migraine chronification.
