Dr. Scheila Kraus, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Anesthesiology at Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, Missouri. She is a neuroscientist whose research focuses on neuroimmune mechanisms underlying chronic pain disorders, including migraine and post-traumatic headache, as well as related comorbidities such as anxiety and depression. Dr. Kraus earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Federal University of Santa Catarina and has extensive expertise in behavioral, molecular, and preclinical research methods. Her work investigates mechanisms of neuroinflammation and pain sensitization with the goal of identifying innovative therapeutic strategies to improve outcomes for individuals living with chronic pain.
