Christina Szperka, MD, MSCE, FAHS is the Director of the Pediatric Headache Program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and an Associate Professor of Neurology & Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Szperka has been interested in the treatment of chronic pain since she was an undergraduate at Amherst College, and focused on pediatric pain while pursuing her medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine. She completed residencies in pediatrics and child neurology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a fellowship in headache medicine at The Jefferson Headache Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She then obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Szperka now divides her time between patient care and research aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of all children with headache disorders.
